Neighborhood Improvement/Beautification Committee
Neighborhood Improvement Committee (NIC) — Mission
The Neighborhood Improvement Committee (NIC) works to enhance and maintain the physical environment of Old Town Triangle—its open spaces, green areas, sidewalks, parkways, and streetscapes—while responding to the evolving needs of our community in alignment with OTTA’s goals.
NIC identifies neighborhood priorities and infrastructure opportunities, collaborates with public and private partners, and leads projects that strengthen Old Town’s beauty, accessibility, and livability.
Our work includes:
- Maintaining refuse containers, pocket parks, landscaped areas, and community flower displays
- Supporting residents with parkway tree replacement, pruning, and seasonal safety maintenance
- Managing the Brick Repair and Replacement Program to preserve Old Town’s historic streetscape
- Improving accessibility across streets, structures, and activities, and promoting awareness of disability needs
Through these efforts, NIC helps preserve Old Town’s unique character while creating a welcoming, inclusive neighborhood for all.
