Class Descriptions:
Chair Yoga is a gentle and relaxing form of yoga practiced sitting on a chair or standing using a chair for support. The poses, or asanas, are often adaptations of modern yoga poses. Chair yoga is a non-intimidating introduction to yoga and provides opportunities to meet people and socialize. It is great for people of all fitness levels and abilities. It not only provides increased joint mobility and strength, but it will also improve cardiovascular health, and overall balance and stability.
Pilates is a mat class based on the original exercises developed by Joseph Pilates, utilizing Pilates basic principles of concentration, centering, control, precision, breath, and flow. Neutral spine, a properly engaged core, pelvic and shoulder stability, spinal articulation, and breath work are all key elements to Pilates mat work. Pilates can aid in flexibility, improve posture, and help with overall balance in your body.
Yoga with Core is a combination of floor, seated, and standing pose sequences with an added core work element. The focus is on breath, alignment, pelvic and shoulder stability, and core activation.
