Songwriting Workshop with Lou Yoelin

Look forward to a fun, interactive 60-minute workshop designed for complete beginners. Lou Youelin will walk participants through simple techniques used in hit songwriting, including approaches you hear in songs by artists like Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter, and show them how to turn their own ideas and emotions into a song. The workshop is completely free, and no musical experience or ability to play an instrument is necessary. The goal is to make songwriting creative, social, and accessible, and for participants to leave having created something of their own.

Lou Youelin is a songwriter and producer whose music has appeared in more than 1,000 TV episodes, including Criminal Minds, How I Met Your Mother, The Kardashians, American Idol, The Voice, and Selling Sunset. I’ve also taught music at DePaul and Elmhurst University.
