Old Town Cares
We’re changing how we look at Giving Tuesday
The Old Town Triangle Association is NOT going to ask you to donate to us this year as part of the Giving Tuesday efforts. We appreciate your support throughout the year. From paying your membership dues, to volunteering at the Art Fair, attending our fundraisers, and helping offset costs at some events, we already know you for the wonderful, giving community that you are.
The Old Town Triangle’s Community Service Committee is highlighting three nonprofit organizations that assist in and near our community who can use assistance. There are so many outlets in need but we wanted to highlight a few that are local and experiencing new challenges this year. The Old Town Triangle will serve as a collection point for donations to these groups. We welcome you to drop-off items at any time.
Support Over Stigma
was brought to our attention by Chicagoland Blue Star Families. SoS is dedicated to saving the lives of our active military, veterans, first responders, and families through the support, education, tools, and resources they need to overcome mental health and service-related challenges. A blue star family is the family of a currently serving military member, including active duty, National Guard, Reserve forces, and those transitioning out of service. Support Over Stigma will do their best to focus efforts on our neighborhood/surrounding area.
We are seeking to fill their emergency food needs. Click here for a list of emergency food needs PLEASE NOTE: this list has been updated. Or you can click here for their Amazon Wishlist.

Ruben Salazar School
is located across the street from Walter Payton College Prep. Salazar is supported by our friends at She Became (see below). Salazar students come from low-income and temporary protected status families who may not be able to celebrate the holidays with the toys on their list this year. We are seeking gift cards to fulfill holiday wishes for the students; Amazon, Visa and Mastercard gift cards can be used anywhere.
She Became was introduced to us by a Triangle neighbor who is very involved in the program. She Became is a mentoring program dedicated to inspiring confidence in young girls and championing gender equality. High school and college students are paired with 3rd-5th grade mentees, fostering their growth through exposure to diverse careers, role models, art projects, and activities. Recognizing the significance of nurturing early leadership skills, our mission is to empower our girls, helping them overcome obstacles and contribute to a more equitable future!

St. Teresa of Avila Food Pantry
at Armitage and Kenmore is a welcoming, dependable source of nutritious food, respect and social contact to the food insecure of our community. Food is supplied from the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) but supplemented with donations and purchases. Each year the pantry serves more people than ever before.
St. Teresa’s is requesting two items that find hard to obtain: individually wrapped rolls of toilet paper and cans of hearty stews/soups with pop-tops preferred.
We are happy to shop for you, if that is easier. Make your donation directly to the Old Town Triangle Association and name the organization you would prefer we support in the “Please feel free to share your reason for donating” line. Click this link and select the Amount of Your Choosing.
