Join us for Classes, Workshops, Short Sessions and Open Studios
The Old Town Triangle Art Center offers specialized art classes seasonally. The Fall session will begin Monday, September 9th. Figure Drawing Studio is returning on Mondays from 12 – 3 PM (September 9 – November 11). Joe Taylor will offer two Oil Painting classes: Tuesdays from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (September 10 – November 12) and Wednesdays from 6:30 – 9:30 PM (September 11 – November 13). Kathleen Newman will lead two classes: Pastel Painting on Wednesdays from 10 AM – 1 PM (October 2 – December 11) and Watercolor Painting on Thursdays from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (October 3 – December 12). Vivian Visser will teach an Acrylic Painting class on Thursdays from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM (September 12 – November 14). Tom Francesconi will offer a Watercolor Painting class on Saturdays from 10 AM – 1 PM (September 7 – November 14).
The OTAC will offer a six week Oil Painting session this Fall with Marie Kirk Burke (October 2 – November 6 ).
Fall Workshops! The OTAC is excited to offer two three-day Oil Painting workshops with Douglas David this Fall. The first workshop will take place from September 27th – 29th and will focus on the process of painting larger canvases. The second workshop, from October 25th – 27th will cover the basic principles of oil painting with regard to painting seascapes.
OTTA members and recent students are invited to join us for open studio time ($10). Use these hours to complete a project, work out a problem or just play around with some idea that has been rolling around for a while. Open studio time is available on Fridays from 10 AM – 1 PM (July 5 & 19, August 9 & 23).

The Leslie Wolfe Gallery
September 7 – 27 | The Leslie Wolfe Gallery is excited to present the Old Town Art Center Instructors Show. The exhibition will showcase artwork from Marie Kirk Burke, Douglas David, Tom Francesconi, Kathleen Newman, Joe Taylor and Vivian Visser. Artworks vary in media, styles, and subjects.
Call For Artists
CALL FOR CHICAGO AREA ARTISTS: The Old Town Art Center is now accepting proposals from artists to be juried for a solo or themed group month-long exhibition in 2020. The Leslie Wolfe Gallery is located at the Old Town Triangle Center, home to an art school, base for the Old Town Art Fair, neighborhood meeting space, fitness classes and assorted events. The Center is located on the first floor of an historic building located in the Old Town Triangle Historic District.
Gallery artists’ works are featured at an opening reception, included in a print newsletter, featured in email newsletter and promoted on social media outlets. Gallery attendees include tour groups, walk-ins, art school students and instructors, Old Town neighbors and guests.
Email 5-7 JPEG images of two dimensional work to email@example.com. Subject: 2020 Gallery. Images must be of individual pieces, which accurately represent the body of work to be exhibited. Please include a short resume and information about the work including size and media. Providing a link in lieu of any of these items will cause the application to be rejected. JPEG size should between 1200/800 and 640/480 (no larger, no smaller). JPEG only.
Jury consists of professional artists from the Old Town Triangle neighborhood. Artists will be notified of jury decisions in November.
