Volunteers & Friends:
For 70 years, helpful people like you have given their time and energy to the Old Town Art Fair. YOU are what makes this event special. THANK YOU for your contributions, we appreciate all you have done and continue to do.
Whether you’re a long-time or first-time volunteer or somewhere in between, ALL of you made a difference. Some of you came in at the crack of dawn, others helped long after the crowds departed and some have been working behind the scenes for many months. Your hands got dirty, your feet got tired and you may have gotten a little rained on too. You assisted 250 artists, greeted thousands of attendees, hung hundreds of posters, sourced musicians and vendors, tended gardens, handed out flyers, asked for favors and donations, entertained the kids, took photos, found advertisers and sponsors, hauled and stacked equipment, picked up litter, directed traffic, got your friends and family to help . . . and SO MUCH MORE. All of this and almost always with a smile. The Fair simply could not happen without each and every one of you.
On top of this, be proud that your efforts will help support community programs and non-profits such as the Menomonee Club, Lincoln Park Zoo, Boy Scout Troop 79 and Deborah’s Place, just to name a few.
On a final note, after four years I’m passing the baton to Sasha Mayoras for 2020. I’ve had fun and made new friends because of the Fair – I hope you have too! Sasha has been great to work with and will do a terrific job as Chair. She has already infused the Fair with fresh and clever ideas such as the Behind the Canvas Artist Tour and the Scavenger Hunt for kids, both of which were a hit this weekend.
Thank you again for all your help – I’ll see you around!
