Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long has the Old Town Art Fair been around?

The Old Town Triangle Association will celebrate its 68th Art Fair on June 10-11, 2017.

Q: Where do the proceeds from the fair go?

Right back into the Old Town community! As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Old Town Triangle Association is 100% focused on its mission. Toward that end we:

  • maintain our local parks
  • organize neighborhood service projects (like spring clean-up)
  • host inexpensive and often free neighborhood social events
  • provide inexpensive gallery space to Chicago artists
  • provide space and administrative support for 15 different art and fitness classes each week
  • maintain meeting space for scouts and other youth programs
  • Each year we donate nearly $100,000 to other worthy organizations. A list of last year’s recipients can be found here.

We rely on neighbors to manage and staff this important fundraising event. This reduces our administrative costs and allows us to pass along more money to community organizations.

Q: I’d like to volunteer! How do I sign up?

Easy. You can sign up here or contact our volunteer administrator at volunteer@oldtownartfair.org.

Q: Where is the Old Town Art Fair? I came last year — but it was the wrong fair.

Our neighbors to the south host a fair the same weekend as the Old Town Art Fair. The original Old Town Art Fair, with fine art; blues, folk & jazz music; and a garden walk is located north of North Avenue under a lovely canopy of trees on the streets of the Triangle Historic District. You’ll find us within the area surrounded by Clark, Sedgwick, Armitage and North. Our entrance gates are located at the intersections of: Lincoln Avenue and Wisconsin; Menomonee and Wells; Sedgwick and Wisconsin; North Park and Willow; and Menomonee and Sedgwick.

Q: I park my car in the Old Town area. What streets will be closed during the fair?

Please see the map of the fair to determine if you will be affected by street closures. During the Old Town Art Fair, both Orleans and Lincoln Park West will be closed from Wisconsin to Menomonee. Wisconsin will be closed from Sedgwick to Lincoln. Menomonee will be closed from Sedgwick to Wells. North Park will be closed from Menomonee to Willow. All street closures will be in effect from Friday, June 9, 2017 at 9 am until Sunday, June 11, 2017 until 9 pm. No cars will be allowed in or out of the closed area from Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 5 am until Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 9 pm.
