Monday Afternoon: Figure Drawing and Painting Studio Artists have the opportunity to hone their skills on their own, working directly from a live model. One hour is devoted to quick gesture poses. The focus will be longer poses for finished drawings and paintings. Summer: This Studio will be available in the Fall

Tuesday: Marie Kirk Burke

Tuesday: Oil Painting This class is a great opportunity for students new to painting as well as experienced painters. Marie will teach color mixing, color relationships, glazing, light, composition, and concept. Students can work from photos or favorite objects. Summer: Marie Kirk Burke will begin again in the Fall

Wednesday Morning:
Pastel Painting Kathleen will emphasize the importance of design and value structure, with an emphasis on developing form through light and shadow. Learn to edit information from photos to strengthen compositions. Explore drawing, proportion, and color through direct observation of a model or still life. Kathleen will demonstrate her pastel techniques, including toning backgrounds, on a variety of surfaces. Prior pastel experience is not necessary, but basic drawing skills will be helpful. Summer: Kathleen Newman will return for the Fall session

Wednesday Afternoon: Painting This is a painting class for students of all levels of experience using oil, acrylic, or pastel. Learn basic to advanced techniques with a modern perspective. Didier will guide students according to needs, addressing technique, composition, color, perspective, and other visual elements. Thursday Morning:
Watercolor Painting Kathleen will share her understanding of watercolor and the skills needed to develop a personal painting style. Expect to explore different materials to improve technique and drawing skills, how to simplify design through abstract shapes and use color and light to reflect mood and emotion. Students will use photo reference in a meaningful way as well as work from still life. The class will include demonstrations, critiques and plenty of one-on-one individual instruction. Saturday: Tom Francesconi
|
Saturday Morning: Watercolor Tom uses a direct, representational approach to painting. Through demonstrations and personal instruction the beginning painter will find Tom's sensitivity and experience invaluable. Experienced painters will be challenged to stretch to new personal horizons. Periodic group critiques are scheduled so all students may gain from the work of others. Summer: Tom Francesconi will be back in the Fall
