One Day Figure Workshop with Kay Smith

The first ninety minutes will be spent reviewing the proportions of the human body, studying the structure of the head, hands, and feet and how to draw them.  Photographic copy will be supplied for reference.

At 12:30 the group will begin drawing from the live model.  First poses will be 1 minute, then 2 minutes, then 5 minutes.  Following these warm-up exercises there will be half hour poses.  2pm-4pm the model will repeat the last pose, but will be in costume.  A new understanding of the body form under the clothing will be gained as well as of the folds in the clothing.

Bring watercolor, pastel, oil, pencil, or charcoal.  The costume and background will be colorful for a lively play of color and form.  Good painting!  Good drawing!
